The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
